Senator Mendez is an educator and first generation college graduate. Having grown up in a single parent household, Juan experienced the political and economic inequalities that push many of us to work multiple jobs to provide for our families.
Why I run
Before I was your legislator, I worked as a community organizer and non-profit leader bringing stakeholders together while conducting research, developing policy strategies and priorities with our community to lead effective programs in the human services field.
Progress for all
If we are going to grow together, our community needs to be fortified with public investment in our education, health, infrastructure, transportation, research and economic stability.
